Class Reunion + Family
6/23/25

Hello, Family & Friends!

Just a quickie to let you know that I will be away from June 26th to July 14th.
Why?  To attend my 65th high school class reunion in my home town of Powell, Wyo
on June 27th and 28th - and then to take the opportunity to visit family and some old friends
in Powell and Montana.  No need to offer more.  Just to let you know.

No movement yet on selling our house.
I did hold an Open House on Friday thru Sunday, but only three families showed.
Who knows?  Maybe one of them will call in time.
Needless to say, my real estate agent, from an Aspen Reality, Robin Vicchy,
will be handling matters until after mid July since I won't be here.
Anita says she might come with Dee to hold an Open House in my absence.
She and her mother and my first wife, Dee, live in Aurora, Colo
about 160 miles from here.  Maybe Anita will be luckier than I have been so far.
At least she and Dee will have my apt to hold up in if they do come.

Good Luck, Anita!  And Happy 84th Birthday, Dee!
Dee will turn 84 on July 6th and my siblings and I will be in mind of
Dad's 59th Death Anniversary on July 7th and our 59th Memorial on July 11th.
Indeed, it will be a good time to get away and remember a wonderful peaceful man
who died 59 years ago at the age of 59 on July 7th, 1966.
???????That's 59 all around.  Huh?

Dad's name was Leo - and in 2009, I came upon a rock mountain
between Laramie and Cheyenne that I hiked up.
The mountain looked a bit like a lion.
Some think of calling a lion "Leo."
So I hiked up "my mountain" and on top sketched a song I called "LEO'S MOUNTAIN."
I will leave you with that.  OK?

Thanks!

Have a Good One!

ALL MY LOVE,

Francis William Bessler

P.S. Dee and Anita's new pope has claimed the title of "Leo."
Like our Leo was a very peaceful gent,
maybe Pope Leo XIV can urge us all to become the same.
Suppose?  I sure Hope so!

LEO’S MOUNTAIN

Dedicated to the memory of my Dad,

whose name was Leo.

REFRAIN:

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.

On Leo’s Mountain, I’m learning to care.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;

and Leo’s Mountain is standing here.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.

I’m pondering life’s grand mystery.

I delight in all I see around me;

and I have little doubt of my Divinity.

Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.

I’m watching the birds flying in the sky.

I’m so glad I can be among them

and learn that all I need to do is try.

Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.

I’m talking to God and I’m wondering why

people don’t realize we’re all God’s children.

Why is there between us such a great divide?

Refrain.

What you may ask is Leo’s Mountain?

It is where a lion becomes like a lamb.

It is where all anger is forgotten.

It’s where the meek meet to understand.

Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;

and I’m calling from here to all mankind.

Let’s give up our fears and embrace in kindness

because, in fact, we are all Divine.

Refrain.

FINISH: (Repeat last verse:)

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;

and I’m calling from here to all mankind.

Let’s give up our fears and embrace in kindness

because, in fact, we are all Divine.

Refrain (twice).
