MY LOOK AT LIFE!
March 7th, 2023
Hello, Everyone!
This is to share a brief essay I wrote on February 22nd as a handout to those who attended a seniors vet meeting on February 24th. A 94 year old vet friend by the name of Bernie Kolp asked me to share my view of life with some of his senior vets at a seniors assembly place here in Laramie called The Eppson Center. I was happy to oblige – and prepared that handout I called MY LOOK AT LIFE I mentioned. I am not going to copy that essay to this letter, however. You will have to go to my website I named una-bella-vita.com to see it. OK? If interested, just tap into that website and find a reference to MY LOOK AT LIFE at the top – and have at it. My other website – francisbessler.com – is going to use it too, but later. Alright?
While I am telling you about MY LOOK AT LIFE, I want to wish one of my dearest friends a Happy 75th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Nancy Remmenga! Nancy and her husband, Rich, and son, Bobby, lived across the street from my first wife, Dee, and our young daughter, Anita Marie, from 1967-1977 in Commerce City, Colorado. I won’t go into details, but Nancy and I chatted a lot about life and its meaning – though Rich and Dee and Anita and Bobby were often aloft on other journeys, so to speak. It sure was nice to have someone so close at hand to talk about the matter we call “life” – and from those discussions, a lot of my sense of life came about – which I have written volumes about since then. See it all at my websites, if you wish. Thanks, Nancy! Friendship is so dear – and we made a lot of wonderful memories back then. Didn’t we?
That will do it for now. I will leave you with a song/poem I wrote on Nancy’s 67th birthday I called MAKING MEMORIES. Thanks, Bernie, for asking me to share my look at life with a few of your friends. My view of life is not very “vet oriented” for having no need for war in this world, but I am always glad to share it.
Also, I would like to let you know that you can glimpse at my thoughts about life on Twitter – if you have access to the net. I try to submit a small tweet a day on that forum. Before today, I had no idea that Twitter keeps and redisplays my tweets (and many others) for maybe 40 days or so. I do not often page down on Twitter after leaving my tweet of the day – but today I did – and saw at least 40 of my daily tweets – from my latest to my oldest offering. I was really surprised. Thanks, Twitter! And thanks to my managers of my website – una-bella-vita.com - for suggesting I do so. For what it’s worth, here is my tweet of this day:
There is nothing that can exist
that can exist on its own.
God is the wonderful principle
by which all that is – is sown.

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY! Know you are always welcome to come to our home in Laramie, Wyoming. My current wife is named Nancy too. I seem to know – and love – a lot of Nancys in this world; but whether you are a Nancy or not, Welcome!
Love You All!
Gently,
Francis William Bessler (Frank, Will)

MAKING MEMORIES

Making memories –
it's all my soul should do.
Making memories –
by living what I think is truth.
Making memories –
that should be my goal in life.
It's all I have to do –
to allow my soul to survive.
Whatever I may think –
will become my memory;
and I will have to inherit –
that which I choose to see.
Let me look at a garden –
and see myself as a rose;
for a rose is only me
in another pose.
Making memories –
please don't stand in my way.
Making memories –
you have your own space.
Making memories –
let me behold the truth in you;
because by seeing you –
I will be seeing me too.
Life is only difficult –
if we insist on separating it
from all that is Divine -
as if some of it is sin.
Let us all celebrate –
by knowing that God's in all.
We are all the same –
be we short or tall.
Making memories –
by walking through Paradise.
Making memories –
by seeing all as Divine.
Making memories –
and as I live, I will return
with the same ole memory –
that my last life did churn.
Some think they should command –
as others should obey.
So they call upon a lord –
to help them make their way.
Thus saith the Lord –
is often only an excuse
to make others do –
as they want them to do.
Making memories –
by loving that which is me.
Making memories –
by sharing my Divinity.
Making memories –
by embracing what I am
and knowing by doing that –
I'm always in command.
