Sharing Debate About Abortion!
4/2/24

Hi, Anita & Dee - & Everyone!

My Lovely Daughter, Anita, and Dee,
nice having you for Easter!
Thanks for coming – and for your terrific generosity!

Among other things we debated the issue of abortion
while you were with me this time.
For what it's worth, I did treat the issue
on page 115 or so of my book - IT'S A NEW DAY.
I probably won't change your mind about it,
but at least you have my opinion about it in said book.

In general, I am Anti-Abortion,
but PRO CHOICE!
In my opinion, out of respect for others,
no law should be made about it.
It should be up to a pregnant lady to decide
about her own body – with chosen counsel.
That is my general opinion,
but others like yourself and a friend, Gary,
whose reply to my offering
Is included in IT’S A NEW DAY,
believe otherwise.
Boy, does Gary disagree!
That disagreement
should comment about the issue right there.

Where there is significant disagreement,
out of respect for others, in my opinion,
law should not be legislated.

People ought to consider the ramifications
of “opinionated law.”
If you make a law that is in violation of my own standards
which you may consider a violation of your own,
consider the impact of your law
upon not only a poor lady who needs help;
but consider also the impact of your law
upon others who may consider helping a pregnant lady
a matter of heartfully obliging their professions -
like a doctor or a nurse.
Is it right to send a doctor or nurse to prison
for doing what they believe is right
and assisting someone in need?
Come on, come on, come on –
consider what you are doing with making law –
and have a heart. Follow your own heart,
but don’t insist that your heart must be mine.
I will leave it at that.

If I did not give you a copy of that book, Anita & Dee,
and you want a copy,
just ask me for a copy
or order one via one of my websites -
una-bella-vita.com or francisbessler.com.

OK?
THANKS!

All My Love,

Dad (Grampa, Francis William Bessler)
