HAPPY BIRTHDAYS TO Melissa, Mary Jean, & Lynn!
10/12/2020
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY, EVERYONE! -
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY -
HAPPY 42ND BIRTHDAY TO MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER, MELISSA
AND HAPPY OTHER BIRTHDAYS TO FRIENDS, MARY JEAN AND LYNN!
I think Mary Jean is a few years older than me - and I am 78.
Mary Jean is our leader in a senior choral group to which Nancy and I belong.
I think Lynn is 71. Right, Lynn?
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you three!
I have been reviewing my book on the soul and Jesus I recommended
a few days ago on Nancy's mother's birthday.
It's called EXPLORING THE SOUL AND BROTHER JESUS.
Our dog got up me at 4 this morning and I decided to finish the part on the soul
while Gypsy was doing her thing outside, if you know what I mean.
I finished that part on the soul with a song I wrote 12 years ago called
I'M A HAPPY SOUL. On this occasion, then, I will feature that song
in this Happy Birthday greeting to Melissa, Mary Jean, and Lynn.
Hope you like it!
On the side, our fire fighters have been making some progress
on dealing with a forest fire just 40 miles or so southwest of Laramie.
So far, it has burned nearly 180,000 acres, but they say they expect
to have it contained by the end of the month. Hope so.
Right now, it is only about 21 % contained and has been burning
in various spots since Sept 17th. They have over 1,200 fighting it.
So far, over 65 structures have burned and over 1400 have had to
evacuate. One good thing, I guess. The area is not very populated,
but I sure hate to see anything burn like what is called the Mullens Fire
has. I think they think the Mullens Fire was started by humans,
but it is still under investigation. Maybe time will tell.
Another side note: On Sept 29th, a nephew-in-law, of mine
died of a heart attack while walking his dog, Cooper,
outside his home. His name was Lynn Terry - and he was 67.
My niece, Dee, about the same age, helped compose an obituary
that I highly recommend for any who might care to look.
I know most of you did not know Lynn - as I did not either,
even though Lynn was family; but I did get to know him a lot better
through the obituary composed by Dee and others.
Amazingly, Lynn recorded a bit of a cameo thing - probably
on his Iphone - the day before he died - for a person he called
"Uncle Bob." I thought that was my brother, Bob, but
In an email from Dee this morning, I was informed that it
was not for "Brother Bob Bessler," but a "Friend, Bob Wilson"
who had known Lynn all his life. In any case,
you may enjoy it. The funeral home that cremated Lynn
and allowed for the obituary is called Ballard Funeral Home
in Cody, Wyoming - where Lynn lived. Dee will still live there.
If interested, tab in ballardfh.com in your online to line
and tab to Lynn Terry. What a wonderful commentary
"Lynn prepared for us all." At least, such is my opinion.
Thanks to that obit, I know Lynn a lot better in death
than I knew him in life. Thanks, Lynn! As another of my songs says
GO IN PEACE!
Anyway, let me finish with a Happy Song, such as it is!
Hope you have wonderful celebrations on your birthdays,
MELISSA, MARY JEAN, and LYNN!
And may all of us have a happy day - in spite of all we are going through
with many fires, many hurricanes, and a long lasting pandemic.
We MELODEES, led by Mary Jean, will sing again soon
when the air has cleared of all that smothers it right now.
Thanks, Mary Jean, for all you do! We appreciate it!
Love You All!
Gently,
Francis William Bessler and
wife, Nancy Shaw
I’M A HAPPY SOUL

REFRAIN:
I’m a happy soul –
it’s easy to be.
I just keep a smile on my face –
embracing the one that is me.
I’m a happy soul –
I try to greet everyone I meet,
thinking that each of us is Divine
and each of us must be complete.
Of course, it’s to each his own,
but what makes me a happy one
is to know that somehow, I am Divine
and wonderfully a Divine son.
What keeps me happy is to realize
that you must share my Divinity.
More than anything else,
those are the notions that keep me free.
Refrain.
When I look out into the sky,
I can’t imagine there can be an end;
and somehow that leads me to believe
that all of us should be friends.
How can there be more of what’s worthy
in the farthest galaxy?
But if it’s all the same, then that tells me,
that the same should be free.
Refrain.
People live their entire lives
wondering where is God;
but if there is no end,
everywhere should find God in applause.
How can God be more where I am
than where you are, my friend?
So relax, and be aware,
Heaven must be where you stand.
Refrain (several times).
