WILD FLOWERS Is Done!
Sept. 5th, 2014

Hello, Everyone,

Well, it's Done!  WILD FLOWERS, my book about life as I see it, is ready for publication.  I just reviewed a final printed Proof that Amazon publishing company, Create Space, just sent me.  I am very pleased.  Including all pages, it is about 300 pages long.

What next?  I need to pay off remaining charges for the process completed thus far - and then order a few books for a few family and friends.  I have already shared that intent, however.  So that is not news.  Is it?

When I order initially, however, I will research how to order on Amazon and let you know the process.  Right now, I do not know.  I have been much too busy compiling the book to even think about ordering anything when it is ready to be ordered; but the time is soon that I will be able to check in and order my own book - maybe by the end of this month.  Time will tell.

I am sure, however, that you who know the process could locate WILD FLOWERS, on Amazon.  Feel welcome to do so.  OK?  And if you do, hey, let me know what you did.  Alright?  I am told it will take a week or so to finalize making WILD FLOWERS available, but after that, you will probably be able to order as you wish.  Enjoy it if you do - and share it as you wish!

Let me thank Wayne Karberg for referring me to Amazon, however.  Earlier in the year, I asked for help in finding a source for publication.  Some of you responded with an idea or two - but Wayne's idea of using Amazon pleased me most.  Thanks, Wayne.  It was a great lead.

If anyone wants to go the same route in publishing as I did, let me know.  I will gladly share what I have come to know.  Alright?  Price wise, expect to pay between $2,000 and $3,000 to use the process.  If you need editing it will probably cost another several thousand.  Personally, I chose to do my own editing and thus cut that process by Amazon (or Create Space) out.  I had friends proof read my work, however, and that was helpful.

All is well here in Laramie.  Hope it is there where you are too.  As I am writing this letter, it is beginning to rain rather hard outside.  Perhaps it is appropriate as marking the end of a process begun in May.  I wrote a song called LET THE RAIN COME DOWN in 1983.  I will leave you with that song - though LET THE RAIN COME DOWN (THE RAIN SONG) is not included in WILD FLOWERS.  There are 28 songs in WILD FLOWERS, though - and 26 essays.  Hopefully it will be a good read for some - and maybe you.  Perhaps!

Gently,

THE RAIN SONG

(LET THE RAIN COME DOWN)

REFRAIN:

Oh, let the rain come down.  Oh, let the rain come down –

like the love that’s in my heart.

Let it flow upon the ground.  Let it give the world a start.

Let the rain be for the flowers and the wheat fields and the trees

what the sun is for sunlight and what my love’s for thee.

Love, they say, is gentle, and easy and true.

Well, I guess that’s what I have is love – that’s what I feel for you.

Refrain.

I’ve wondered almost all my life, why love is so sweet.

And now I know it’s that way because it is so free.

Now I’m not much for judging what makes others sing,

but love does the trick for me – it has that special ring.

Refrain.

Love is like a kite, reaching for the sky.

So let go of the string – and fly with it so high.

Now it’s not for me – to tell you how to live.

You must choose your own way – and you must choose your list.

Refrain.

Love is like a puppy, licking a child’s face.

And love is the only thing that can keep us in the race.

Refrain (4).
