Happy May! And HAPPY 55th BIRTHDAY to my eldest daughter, Anita Marie (5/23/25), HAPPY 88TH BIRTHDAY to my Dear Nancy’s sister – Dottie (5/22/25) – and HAPPY 61st BIRTHDAY to my niece, Dee (5/22/25)! Have a Good One! – and come and see me when you can; and that goes for everyone. Alright?
At this time, I was going to share an essay I wrote in August of 2018 with you I called ONE WORLD/ONE FAMILY, but instead I am only going to offer it to be more sure you want it. It is 7 pages long and the title tells all, so to speak. I consider myself a Divine Naturist Christian – my title – and the gist of my belief is that All Existence is of an Infinite God – and therefore, all must be Holy given our source is an Infinite Holy God – including you and me.
I must admit that when growing up, I was led to believe that everyone had to “Earn Holiness,” but when I was 22 in 1964 and an avid student at St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, Colorado, I meditated my way out of that notion by rationalizing that An Infinite God must be Everywhere and in Everything because it makes no sense that an Infinite God can be missing from anything or anyone. In my essay of 2018 – which I wrote 4 months after my Dear Nancy and I wed, partially because she wanted me to do so, I explain in more detail why I believe as I do. Yesterday, however, an author I have really appreciated by the name of Elaine Pagels, sent out an email to those on her list – such as yours truly – that a book on Jesus she just wrote called MIRACLES AND WONDER is available. Elaine and I do not agree on everything, but we do consider each other “kindred spirits.” We differ in some detail, but that is just fine for true “kindred spirits.” We enjoy our differences as much as we enjoy our agreements, so to speak. Of course, that is how I view us because of our somewhat common beliefs about the meaning of life, so speak, but Elaine would have to speak for herself. I think she would agree, though. Right, Elaine?
Given the timing, I highly recommend MIRACLES AND WONDER. I received my notice yesterday and immediately ordered a copy. I am sure you can do the same by tapping in the name of Elaine Pagels in an Amazon or Kindle or KDP internet slot. I ordered via her email letter, but I am sure you won’t have any trouble following my suggestion. Elaine is about 82 in age, for what it’s worth. If I am correct, she was born 2/13/1943.
