Hike up LEO'S MOUNTAIN on Dad's 114th!
1/31/2021

Hello, Everyone!

Not to take much time for this,
but it's nice to share a "Hike up Leo's Mountain"
on my departed Dad's 114th.
Dad was only 59 when he slipped out of this world
via being a victim of an auto/pedestrian accident on 7/7/1966,
but he has never slipped from my mind -
or the minds of my family.
Dad was the pedestrian and was "ushered" into his next
paranormal experience by being hit by a truck
whose driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.

I won't go into detail,
but a few years back I went hiking
about 20 miles east of Laramie, Wyoming
and found a bit of a mountain that resembled the head of a lion.
Dad's name was Leo.
So thinking of a comparison to "Leo the Lion,"
I wrote a song called "Leo's Mountain."
Looking across the way, I noticed a bit of a hill.
So keeping with keeping Mom and Dad together,
I called that hill by my name of "Clara's Hill."
Of course, I had to write a song by the same name after Mom.
Mom passed in 2004, but on her 113th birthday on 4/12/2021,
I will try to remember to share the song I wrote
in memory of Mom that I called "Clara's Hill."
OK?

Bye for now!

See you All on "Leo's Mountain" -
and in April, we will take a jaunt up "Clara's Hill"!

Gently,

Francis William Bessler and
supportive wife, Nancy Shaw

LEO’S MOUNTAIN

Dedicated to the memory of my Dad,
whose name was Leo.

REFRAIN:
I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.
On Leo’s Mountain, I’m learning to care.
I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;
and Leo’s Mountain is standing here.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.
I’m pondering life’s grand mystery.
I delight in all I see around me;
and I have little doubt of my Divinity.
Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.
I’m watching the birds flying in the sky.
I’m so glad I can be among them
and learn that all I need to do is try.
Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain.
I’m talking to God and I’m wondering why
people don’t realize we’re all God’s children.
Why is there between us such a great divide?
Refrain.

What you may ask is Leo’s Mountain?
It is where a lion becomes like a lamb.
It is where all anger is forgotten.
It’s where the meek meet to understand.
Refrain.

I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;
and I’m calling from here to all mankind.
Let’s give up our fears and embrace in kindness
because, in fact, we are all Divine.
Refrain.

FINISH: (Repeat last verse:)
I’m standing here on Leo’s Mountain;
and I’m calling from here to all mankind.
Let’s give up our fears and embrace in kindness
because, in fact, we are all Divine.
Refrain (twice).
