HAPPY FALL!

9/8/23

Hello, Family - & Friends!

It’s a little early, but HAPPY FALL TO US ALL!

Just a minor update on my Dear Wife, Nancy – who will be turning 91 this November – 11/22/23.

She is home – being discharged from our local hospital – Ivinson Memorial – two days ago, 9/6/23 – having spent 5 days in the hospital, dealing with a swollen esophagus due to regurgitated stomach acid. When I took her into the hospital last Friday, she could not eat or drink for the blockage in her throat. That was my first experience with such a condition. How about you? Have you ever heard of such a thing?

Anyway, we are glad to say, her previously inflamed and blocked esophagus has been opened and she can now eat and drink again. Sure glad for that! Her treatment is ongoing with various prescriptions, but it is looking good for her. Nancy is dealing with some other problems too, but let’s just say, we are dealing with them the best we can. OK? Some days we are fine; and some days - not so much; but overall, we both believe we are among the lucky in this world. One of the things that keeps us among the lucky is our love for one another. Again, how about you?

On the side, we are hoping we can join with our Laramie seniors group called The Melodees next Monday to practice for our Fall program for other seniors around town. Last year, Nancy was often too tired to attend practices and performances, but we sure did enjoy what we could do when we could. Maybe this year we will do better – or worse, but it is worth planning on. This Fall, our program will be on songs from the ‘50s. That ought to be a lot of fun – when all is ok to participate, know what I mean?

For the heck of it, here is a list of the songs we will sing when Nancy feels up to it. If you happen to be around when we practice or perform, know you are welcome to join us. OK? We try to practice every Monday around 1 in the afternoon at the local Eppson Center for seniors. Generally we practice for at least a month and then perform a time or two each week for at least two months. If you are here, feel welcome to sit in – and even sing if it pleases you.
