Getting Ready to say Goodbye to Nancy!

11/19/23

Hello, Everybody!

This Wednesday, November 22nd,
when Nancy would have turned 91,
but passed away before that,
on November 1st - All Saints Day -
we will have a Goodbye to Dear Nancy!
at our gravesite at Laramie Greenhill Cemetery.

I do believe Nancy dying on what traditional Christianity
calls All Saints Day is rather appropriate
because I believe that we are all saints,
but we don't know it.
I wrote a song about that years ago.
I won't repeat that song here,
but I am going to share a song I wrote
on my youngest daughter's birthday
a few years ago that tells it like I believe it.
Nancy would like that and often told me that -
I AM BEAUTIFUL AND SO ARE YOU!

Indeed, We are all beautiful
for having the wonder of God's Creation
embedded in us all, but in not knowing it,
we act like we are full of sin and degradation -
just the opposite of what my friend and yours, Jesus,
lived to tell us 2,000 years ago.
We did not believe it then - and we still do not believe it.

Just look at what is happening in the Mideast
with Jews bewailing Palestinians and
Palestinians bewailing Jews.
Both Jews and Palestinians
have the same father - Abraham -
but do they act like it?
No! I think and believe that is so because
one side or the other fails to believe all are beautiful
because all are graced within the same Sacred God.
I believe Jesus lived to tell us 2,000 years ago
that we are all brothers and sisters, children all,
of the same God
and no one of us is more sacred than another.

But we did not believe it then –
and we still do not believe it.
Do we?
We chose - and choose - to make of Jesus a King
and not a brother - and in so doing so,
we feel justified in acting
like one of us is more sacred or Godly than another.
Kings are only needed
when superiority is the order of the day.
If all are equal, superiority is not needed.
Is it?

No more!
Let me get on with my song about all of us being beautiful.
My Dear Wife, Nancy, heard me say it many times
and is likely still hearing it - on another side.
We will say Goodbye to Nancy on Wednesday,
but for me, it is just as much a
Hello to another angel of a different sort.
Nancy was an angel in the flesh
like I am and you are.
She is now an angel of a different order -
like I will be and you will be - when we die.
We won't stop being beautiful because
we will still be within God's Wonderful Creation.
Or so, I Believe. How about you?

Gently Yours,

I AM BEAUTIFUL
(AND SO ARE YOU)

I am beautiful
and so are you.
That, my friends,
is the wonderful truth.
Life is grand
just as it is.
Because God is in it,
we can have no sin.

I am beautiful
and so are you.
So, let me see
what I can do.
We're all the same,
each and everyone.
Let us all act
like we're all God's sons.

I am beautiful
and so are you.
Let's look around
and enjoy the view.
Everything is a miracle
because it's all Divine.
So, let's not be shy
and see our lives as fine.

I am beautiful
and so are you.
Look at the sunlight
to find a clue.
We are all children
of the light.
Let's not be scared
of the night.

I am beautiful
and so are you.
Like birds in flight,
we're spectacular too.
And like sunflowers
blooming in full array,
let us all have
a happy day.

Indeed, it's time
to open our eyes
and see life
as delightfully fine.
It's time to put away
all of our fears
and finally realize
what we've missed
through all the years.

You are beautiful
and so am I.
We have no reason
to be shy.
We are grand
because we were made
to march proud
in life's grand parade.

You are beautiful
and so am I.
Within us all,
life does abide.
Let's be proud
and each other embrace
and look at each other
face to face.

Yes, let's be proud
and each other embrace
and enjoy one another
face to face.
Don't be shy.
Know of your worth
and let's find Paradise
on this Earth.

Yes, let's find Paradise
on this Earth.
Let's find Paradise
on this Earth.
