HAPPY 108TH BIRTHDAY, DAD!
1/31/2015

Hello, Everyone,

Just to share a bit of an essay - including a new song too - on the event of my departed Dad's 108th birthday.  It never hurts to remember an old love.  Does it?  Dad has been gone since July of 1966, but be it hope, faith, or wishful thinking, I do believe Dad is still thriving in the world in some way - and not just in my dreams either.  I think we all go on when we pass on - and our "judgment" is basically to have to inherit a soul we took with us when we passed; and that is why it is so critical - in a way - that we live well when we live because the attitude with which we live will be the same attitude we will inherit.  I do not believe that God is on the other side of life to judge us because, being necessarily Infinite, God must be everywhere.  God is IN everything - and that is why an INSIDE GOD cannot judge anything.  To judge someone, one has to be outside of that one to judge him or her; but if God is INSIDE of all, that makes it almost impossible for God to judge.  Wouldn't you agree?  Just think about it!  Honest, it does not hurt to think.  I highly recommend it.  LOL!

Be that as it may, let me wish my departed Dad - and continuing soul - a wonderful greeting wherever he - or she - might be.  OK?  At this time, I have not written my song below, but I will before I finish this letter.

I have, however, finished the attached essay (and accompanying song) as I write this.  I will add that essay to my blog of my website to become the most recent feature of that site.  You may review it at my website - or review it in my attachment.

What's it all about?  It is in response to a friend who asked that I comment about how it is possible that there can be so much suffering in the world if there is really a "kind God" about.  I will let my essay speak for itself.

And now, let me write my song of the day - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

Be in touch as you wish; and have a wonderful day and entire life;
and keep smiling.  It might even catch on!

Gently,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

Happy Birthday, Dad!
Hope you are enjoying wherever you are!
I know you've been gone awhile now,
but my guess is that you have not gone very far.
I'm willing to bet that you are back here on Earth -
and not out there somewhere in the atmosphere.
I bet you became a baby
soon after you left us unaware.
That is, you were unaware of your going -
and so, Dad, were we;
but more than likely you simply
slipped right back into life -
and joined us to be free.
Let me imagine now
of how old you might be.
Since you left us in 1966,
by 2015,
you are probably now about 49.
Who knows,
you may even be a current pal of mine?
Or you may have even
come back and left us again,
but no matter how many times you have lived,
I know you have always been my friend.
And when I go, I, too will be
the same one that I am right now;
and my friends & family can expect
to see me smiling with a bow.
Let me go now, Dad,
out to buy you a birthday cake;
and tonight some friends and I
will honor you in a wake.
Happy Birthday, Dad,
wherever you might be!
And thanks so much
for when you were here -
and being here with me.
