HAPPY MEMORIAL/REMEMBRANCE DAY!
5/31/21
Hello, Everyone!
I want to take a moment to say Hello on this rather special day.
I think of Memorial Day as a kind of REMEMBRANCE DAY
as well as paying tribute to our fellow patriots, especially those
who have given their lives for our country.
As I was telling my Dear Wife, Nancy, this morning,
long ago, I wrote a kind of patriotic song I called
TWINGE AT MY HEART. For what it's worth,
I will share it with you below.
Hope you like it - at least a little.
I will let my song say the rest.
Be in touch!
Have a Good One!
Gently.

TWINGE AT MY HEART

REFRAIN:
There's a twinge at my heart
when I see Old Glory -
waving so proud and so free;
and I wonder how many times
it's told the story
of courage and valor and gallantry.
Several hundred years ago
this nation was founded
on the principle of freedom for all.
Although it's had many trials,
in justice, it still stands tall.
Refrain.
This nation is a land
of believers.
Our lives in the hands of Fortune we entrust.
There is no country greater -
America, the land of the just.
Refrain.
Onward we shall march
as soldiers,
armed with our armor for peace.
Let us march strong -
Americans, united in Freedom's Dream.
Refrain.
Wherever there's a challenge
for tomorrow,
as long as we believe we are right,
we will stand firm -
Americans - united in Freedom's Light.
Refrain.
For sure, there are many
kinds of soldiers.
A soldier is only one who believes.
So, Believe as you will;
and I will Believe as me.
Refrain.
Old Glory is made
of several colors.
It's made of red, white, and blue.
Red's for blood, Blue's for victory;
and White's for the Pursuit of Truth.
Refrain.
Maybe, Friends, someday
Old Glory
will be only White and Blue.
Maybe we can stop shedding blood;
and All will be Free in the Truth.
Refrain (Several times)
