LAST CHANCE FOR TRUMP - A Retort!
4/5/2018

Hi, Leona!

To respond to your comments below (Sorry but what about Obama not even being born here and all and the lives Hilary lost? ) as a comment about my latest letter to the editor - LAST CHANCE FOR TRUMP - MAYBE, I think the idea that Obama was not a valid citizen due to being born outside the U.S. was a ruse by then Donald Trump to gain notoriety. Some people like others who rail and rant against another person or party for whatever reason; and so it became fodder for the mill to pick on Obama, trying to not only delegitimize Obama, but the Democrats for which he stood.

In the end, Donald Trump was wrong in claiming that Obama was not a "natural born" citizen, but that did not keep him from trying to suggest otherwise - even into his own run for the Presidency. People like that sort of thing - or at least lots do. So those like Trump who are out to scale down an opponent are so willing to stoop to any lie to get themselves seen as a "worthy opponent." They try to suggest some kind of personal worth by tearing down an opponent's worth. That is how I see the Trump claim that Obama was not born in this country. In this case, Trump was trying to demonstrate some personal worth by virtue of his being born as an American, in comparison to Obama - who he deceitfully tried to argue as "Un American" for not being born in America - as if where a person is born should have any bearing on personal worth in the first place. But all along, Trump probably knew his claim was a lie.

As for "the lives that Hillary lost," The so called "Benghazi" attack, Hillary may have been Secretary of State when it happened, but she sure did not allow for an attack. Terrorists do not need an invitation to attack. It happens; but to blame the State Dept. for "letting it happen" is very unfair. Once again, this whole attack on Hillary was an attempt to try and make her candidacy illegitimate. I do not know the details of that incident, Leona, but what I do know is that long before she became a candidate for the Presidency, Hillary agreed to testify to the nth degree to Congressional Committees on the issue. The Republicans kept on and kept on and kept on with the issue because it was fodder for their mill; but on the other hand, President Trump does not even hold press conferences to answer questions about himself. That ought to tell you something about President Trump. Keep it hidden - all that he does not want to deal with - and hopefully it will go away.

But it might not work. Who knows what the Mueller probe is discovering about Trump's business affairs before and after the election, but you can be sure that Mr. Trump will deny anything for which he has not yet taken responsibility. My idea of a proper President, Leona, is one who leads by example - but an example of integrity is the single most important example he or she can offer. Constantly refusing to answer questions about any given issue is not an example of integrity, is it? And a very important part of taking responsibility for one's action is letting it all out, so to speak. Show proof for your claims and do not expect others to believe you just because you said something is true or false. Prove it! That is a hallmark of "integrity."

And if you fail the test of integrity, please step aside and let someone else who commands it take over.

That is how I see it!

But thanks for your reply, Leona. Perhaps I have responded somewhat.

Have a Good One!

Gently,

Francis William Bessler
