REMEMBERING MY WIFE'S MOTHER!
10-7-2020
Hello, Family,
I did not know her, but Kathryn Amelia Foster Hammond was
the mother of Nancy. She was born on 10/7/2005 and died on 6/11/1978 - I think.
In a way, then, Kathryn would be 115 if she were alive today,
but we all know she left this life 42 years ago if she died in 1978.
I think it is good to keep death in mind because it is only a beginning
of another life. That I Believe. I also believe that God was in Kathryn's life
last time around and is in Kathryn's life this time around.
And what a wonderful epic that is - just one story of many.
We all die the same as we all were born, but our death is probably
no more or less significant than our birth. That I Believe.
So, Nancy and I are going to go out this afternoon and treat a 94 year old friend, Lois,
to dinner in celebration of Kathryn's life - the life that was and the life that is.
Who knows where Kathryn is now, but I am willing to bet that she is
just as "Godful" now as she was in her previous life.
I have long given up the idea that God is some kind of Power behind life
commanding obedience pending punishment for failure or reward for success
because of the realization that God is Probably Infinite - meaning
whatever God is, God is IN everything and IN everyone.
That includes the Kathryn that was - and perhaps the "Amelia" that is.
Maybe it is Happy 42nd to Amelia and not Happy 115 to Kathryn!
Suppose? In any case, be it Kathryn at 115 or Amelia at 42,
we are going to celebrate a life that was - and a life that is.
HAPPY 115, KATHRYN! HAPPY 42ND, AMELIA!
Isn't it Wonderful?
Love You All!
Gently,
Francis William Bessler and
Nancy Shaw
P.S. Some of you know that Nancy has been cleared
for a mitral-clip procedure on Nov. 6th at the
Medical Center of the Rockies, pending no COVID preemption.
We will see how it goes. Be in touch as you wish.
