RESOLVING TRUMP: TRIAL BY JURY?
4/13/2018
Happy Friday the 13th, Everyone! For what it's worth, I am a firm believer that as much good comes from 13 as from 14 - or any other number. It might be we learn a lesson from 13 that may seem uncomfortable, but whenever we learn a lesson - or however we do - we should be glad. Right?
Anyway, I just submitted my latest letter to the editor to the local newspaper. As always, it may be printed; and it may be sidelined - for whatever reason; but it is worth sharing it. So that is what I am doing here. Read it below if you want.
All is Well!
Thanks!
Be in touch as you wish!
Gently,

Subject: RESOLVING TRUMP - IF NEEDED!
As I see it, we may be facing a bit of a national crisis if the Mueller Probe soon reports that President Trump may be guilty of some criminal behavior either prior to or due to our Presidential Election of 2016. Assuming that a report is forthcoming, how do we best handle the situation?
In my opinion, I think we should remove judgment from politics as much as possible. Let's face it. Leaving such a matter to judgment within Congress would only invite more outrage from both sides of the political fence than seems to already be at hand. I realize full well that many legal experts think that a sitting president cannot be indicted and tried by a jury, but in my opinion, politics is much too unruly now for a Congressional Impeachment Process to go forward.
If it is true that a sitting president cannot be tried by a jury, then I believe the only reasonable way to go about judging this "sitting president" is to let the electorate do it in upcoming elections - taking into account whatever report the Mueller Probe eventually presents to the nation; but I do believe that such a probe has been necessary in light of so much turmoil surrounding President Trump. He may be innocent of any criminal behavior, but process must be followed to resolve innocence or guilt simply because in this nation, no one should be above the law; and if that process is impeded by "The Donald," then such violation should be the first issue at hand to command an indictment and subsequent trial.
Should a sitting president be subject to a trial by jury? I do believe so - simply because I believe in our process of jurisprudence, if you want to call it that. No one wants to be accused of a crime, but if one is, then trial by one's peers is by far the best way to go; and that should be irrespective of circumstance. That is how I see it. How about you?
