THE STORY OF LOVE - Done & Available

March 26th, 2014

Hello, Everyone,

I just completed my THE STORY OF LOVE project; and so now it is back to my WILD FLOWERS project.  I have been working on my WILD FLOWERS project for a few months, but I decided to interrupt that project to work on a kind of subsidiary project I call THE STORY OF LOVE.  Who knows where any of it will go, but as I see it, none of it can go anywhere unless it is to go, if you know what I mean.

I will define the
THE STORY OF LOVE project below, but the WILD FLOWERS project is an intended compilation of many of the blog entries below.  My intent is to provide for a printed book of selected blogs in order to provide for a hand held book of some of my ideas and works as written for this blog feature of my website.

In 1981, I was engaged to a lovely lady named Sandi - and her two teenaged kids from Sandi's former marriage, Chris and Lori.  I have been married a few times in my life, but not mostly for the "wives" sake, but for the "kids" of those wives sake.  In 1981, I fell in love with one called Sandi, but I was as much in love with her kids as I was with Sandi.

But Sandi and I did not go forward with a wedding because of my 'hair brained notion" that we ought to work on an audio cassette program of original music and commentary.  Sandi loved my ideas, but she did not believe they had much of a chance in this world.  I guess you could call Sandi a "civilized realist" - where I seem to be more of "natural realist".

Anyway, I had this notion to try and produce an audio cassette program that would mix original song and commentary to try and tell a story of what I call "Divine Naturism".  That would take money, though, and Sandi did not think "we" should invest in any program that has "almost no chance" to succeed.

So, Sandi and I split - even though we are still great friends to this day.  I went on to produce the program I wanted to produce - and like Sandi thought it would - it cost a lot of money - and a lot of time.  When I started, my intent was to produce only one little 90 minute program at the cost of maybe $3,000 or so; but it would take me over seven years (more accurately, nine years) and $140,000 in cost to finally call it "done".

I must admit I have often wondered if the cost was worth it - or that I should have been willing to settle for much less than I did, but I wanted a great singer for my program - and I had to pay for her - as well as a good number of musicians that I hired to add this instrumental track or other.  I would put in a lot of overtime to pay for my musicians - and then I would head to a studio in Atlanta, Ga - where I lived - and put down another track.  Since I had to earn everything I had to pay (and everything and everyone cost $40 an hour), it took a lot of time and money to do what I wanted to do.  But, eventually, I did get it done!  Goes to show that if you stick with something long enough, eventually you will be able to call it "done".  Right?

And then when I finally finished it - a thing I labeled MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE - audio cassette format had become obsolete.  Who has an audio cassette player these days?  MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE turned out to "require" four 90 minute programs to tell the story I wanted to tell, but after trying to find another producer who could reproduce it and failing to do that, I put it on the shelf, so to speak.

In working on this current printed book project I am now working on called WILD FLOWERS, I mentioned at the end that I "intend" to dub MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE to some DVD format to allow me to finally share it.  I mean who wants to take nearly 9 years to do a program and pay a minor fortune to do so and let it stay on the shelf?  Not me!  As I have looked upon it, there would come a time when I could find a way to share MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE; and I have decided that time is Now!

Once I wrote at the end of WILD FLOWERS, that I "intend" to dub MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE to a DVD format of some sort, I decided that I should not say "intend".  I should say that I "have done" such a thing.  So, I will end my printed book project with an offer to share my long ago shelved program - MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE - with any who wants a copy.  It is better to do that, I think, than to leave it open ended and say I "intend" to make something available.  Right?

Accordingly, I have been interrupting my WILD FLOWERS project to do a DVD program of 3 volumes as it turns out.  I am calling the DVD program THE STORY OF LOVE - based on the title of one of my songs - "The Story of Love".  I don't suppose it would have mattered what I called the DVD formatted program, but I think it does matter that I am finally going to make it available.

And that is where I would like to enter a bit of a caveat, so to speak.  I think someone else with a lot more technical expertise and equipment could do a much better job putting MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE to DVD, but my THE STORY OF LOVE is hopefully just a beginning.  I have chosen to use an average quality pictorial of family and friends from 2009-2013 as the base of my program, but I can see MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE being dubbed to other bases as well - especially to some natural scene bases.  The question is, will anyone find interest to do such a thing?

Be that as it may, my THE STORY OF LOVE is perhaps of C quality because of my less than hi-tech equipment, but it is a lot better than nothing at all.  And it is a beginning to put MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE to DVD.  I know I am highly prejudiced, but I do believe the story I try to tell with this "hair brained" story of love and acceptance of life is worthy of the telling; and, again, I hope my THE STORY OF LOVE is just a beginning.  Let the world take my effort and put it to really good use.  That is my offering.

Anyway, THE STORY OF LOVE is done!  Now I can get back to proof reading my almost finished WILD FLOWERS for a final time and put it to bed as well.  Keeping in mind that my thinking is not very traditional in that I do not believe that God is a "Person" to create or judge, but rather an "Infinite Presence" that allows all to exist, if you want a copy of THE STORY OF LOVE, ask and you will receive.  OK?  You can judge for yourself if I wasted money and talent to produce MASTER OF YOUR OWN FATE - if you dare to review my arguments for my beliefs - but from my point of view, I did not waste a single dime in doing what I took so long to do; and I think my friend, Sandi, would agree.  Right, Sandi?
